Day 1: From Bujumbura, transfer to Rumonge
Departure at 7:30 am and leave Bujumbura to Rumonge, visit Livingstone and Stanley monument,
then drive on flat land between the Lake Tanganyika and the road (800 m above sea level), until
to the beautiful beach at Tanganyika Blue Bay resort time to put your bags in the room and book
your lunch then go the thermal water at Mugara (swimming and massage opportunity).
Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Rumonge (Hotel Blue Bay Resort)
Day 2: Excursion to the southernmost source of Nile River, the Karera Falls and German
fault.
Leaving Rumonge morning at 7am drive to Bururi, we will start our visit by the southernmost
source of the Nile River in Rutovu (White Nil), and once in Rutana drive to German fault and
come back for lunch at Le Perroquet hotel then continue to the extraordinary Karera waterfalls.
Dinner and overnight in Gitega at the hotel (Hotel Accolade).
Day 3: Gitega city tour, the former royal site and the sacred drum sanctuary in Gishora.
Gitega is the current political capital of the country since 2019, a city located exactly in the middle
of the country and the ideal city where one can get acquainted with the historical and cultural
heritage of Burundi, in the national museum of Gitega.
After breakfast at the hotel, our visit begins at the National Museum of Gitega, then Boma the
former residence of German governor before the first world war; then drive to Gishora to meet the
famous drummers to attend a fascinating show combining the sound of the drumbeat to dances,
heroic poetry and traditional songs, and on our coming back to Bujumbura, time to take lunch in
Gitega.

Day 4: hike to Kibira National Park, tea plantation and pygmy village, Batwas.
After breakfast, drive to Kibira national national, our trek in the park begins where we leave the
car to go into the primary forest that will offer views of his varied and subtle vegetation. (In this
forest, possible to cross animals such as white and black Columbus monkeys, baboons and
chimpanzees.) and the green velvet hills tea plantations spread to infinity, a beautiful landscape;
we leave Kibira direction to Batwa village of Busekera where you attend a small demonstration of
traditional dances; return to Bujumbura
